BEFORE THE COURSE
COURSE REQUIREMENTS AND LANGUAGES
To attend an EBS course you need to be 18 years old the moment the course starts. You can attend a course at EBS Kos or EBS Phuket if you are 17 years old and have your parent/guardian’s written permission.
If you are looking to take a course with EBS Las Vegas, EBS New York or EBS Miami you need to be 21 years old to be able to drink alcoholic drinks. You can attend a course in the USA if you are between 18 and 21 years old as you will still be able to learn all the elements of the course due to our training methods. If you are under 21 years old, you will not be able to take part in some of the organised events outside of school hours as they involve drinking alcoholic drinks.
We highly recommend that you have previous experience if you are going to take either the 10-Day Advanced Bartending or 6-Day Advanced Flair. The only course which has requirements is the EBS Instructor Academy. To apply for this course you need to have at least 3 years of bartending experience, be fluent in English, both written and spoken and have exceptional social skills.
No, we also offer courses in many other languages depending on the availability of our world-class instructors. We only recommend taking a course in a language other than your own, if you have a Professional Working Proficiency in this language. Professional Working Proficiency is the level at which you can discuss a variety of topics with ease and understand the majority of what others are saying, this way you get the full EBS experience and won’t miss out on anything! To find out which languages you can study in and where, give EBS CARE a ring and they’ll bring you up to date.
COURSE PRICES
Head to any of our school pages, click the “Price and Book” tab and you’ll see the courses on offer and the prices. Likewise, go to any of our course pages, click the “Book Now” tab and you’ll see the course prices.
The course price covers your industry-leading bartending education and study materials for the duration of your course. Most of our schools also arrange free activities for you to take part in, these activities differ between schools but you can check them out on the ‘Student Life’ tab.
Accommodation is not included in the course price. At the booking page you will have the option to include accommodation for most of our schools. You can preview the facilities on the “Accommodation” tab of the school page. The majority of our students choose to stay in the EBS accommodation as it is the best way to integrate with your fellow course mates and get the true EBS experience! You can choose not to stay in EBS accommodation if you are local to the school or have pre-arranged accommodation.
You will need money for food and drinks at your destination. Some schools offer food packages so you can have your meals prepared and cooked for you at your destination, all for a great price.
The schools also arrange other activities for you to enjoy outside of school hours that incur a cost, it’s good to put some money aside for these as well.
THINGS YOU NEED TO SEND AND WILL RECEIVE FROM EBS
No, you don’t need to bring anything. You will get all of the necessary practical and theoretical equipment at your school for educational purposes. Equipment that will help you train outside of school hours can be purchased as part of the EBS merchandise.
It is vital that you send us 1 or 2 emergency contact details. Without these details, you will not be accepted on the course. You can do this by logging in to your student account and entering your details under the “Arrival & Contact Details” tab. All we require is the name, relation and phone numbers of your emergency contact.
Furthermore, if you’re travelling to an EBS school overseas, please provide us with your flight details. This way we can have everything ready for you upon arrival.
We’ll send you SMS alerts to convey important messages such as late payment reminders, student account updates or [in very rare cases] course changes. We may also send you SMS alerts about package upgrades, services at your destination, other courses, campaigns and offers. We strongly advise you to allow us to send you SMS alerts [they’re free to receive], if you would rather not receive SMS alerts, you can deactivate them in your student account.
TRAVELLING TO YOUR DESTINATION
Yes, of course! Most of our students are travelling alone, so you’ll be in the same boat as them. Taking an EBS course is also a great opportunity to bring your best friends along with you and have an unforgettable time together.
Each country has its own rules and regulations regarding getting a visa. EBS CARE can give you advice, but it is ultimately your own responsibility to research and obtain your required visa.
Flights are not included in the course price. To obtain cheaper flights we advise you to look at departures from major airports and to use comparison websites. Consider taking connecting flights as they often work out cheaper.
Airport transfers are not included in the course price. Some schools offer airport transfers for an extra charge that you can arrange when booking your course. This way you can have your transport prearranged, which is one less thing to worry about!

We also ask you to do this so that we can verify that everyone who should be on the course is present.
EBS has a strict alcohol policy for both students and employees. As a bartender training organisation we take the consumption of alcohol and serving very seriously. Students engaged in any EBS related activity, at an EBS school, during school hours, must be in a fit condition to perform.
Arriving at school in an intoxicated state is unacceptable as it can put your fellow students and instructors in danger. If you are found to be in an intoxicated state you will be sent home and may be subject to our disciplinary policy. Any dangerous or irresponsible drinking during school hours will be severely punished. If you begin to act in a disorderly manner due to intoxication which consequently requires intervention by an EBS staff member or local official, you will subject to our violation protocols.
AFTER THE COURSE
After you’ve graduated from your course you will receive a worldwide recognised European Bartender School certificate. You will receive the same standardised EBS certificate as all of your course mates. No matter which school you study in or which language you choose to study in, your certificate will be the same

Educational Guarantee
Don’t worry, it could just be that the nerves get the better of you on exam day, it’s normal. For this very reason we created the educational guarantee. The educational guarantee allows you to repeat the entire course, within one year, in the same destination, if you fail your exams. You can purchase your educational guarantee when you book your course.
The cost of accommodation isn’t covered by the educational guarantee. Individual exam retakes are not included in the educational guarantee.
Retake Your Exams
If you fail certain exams you can contact EBS CARE and they will provide you with the school’s email address so that you can arrange a time and date for your retake/s with the school. The school will give you all of the information.

BOOKING AND PAYING
This usually occurs for one of the following reasons:
- We don’t accept the card you are using
- Your card doesn’t allow you to transfer to an international account
- Your card has been blocked because it has reached its payment limit
- There has been a technical error
Firstly, we advise you to call your bank to ask them if any of the issues above have occurred. If your bank tells you that your card has not been blocked, you can transfer to international accounts and does not have a set limit, call EBS CARE. We will do our best to deal with the payment issue.

If you have paid by card, check your student account to see that the transaction has been successful, if so, your booking will be confirmed shortly. If you have any questions don’t hesitate to contact EBS CARE!
Even if you pay in full by card it can take up to 3 working days to reach us. Once we have received your payment we will change the status of your booking to “confirmed” in your student account. We will contact you if we require any additional information.
